A sensual walking performance of contemporary dance and music at Dovre in Nord-Gudbrandsdalen

Join a very special experience in beautiful surroundings at Dovre.
“RE-CONNECT, before and now” is a contemporary choreography concert where the audience walks through several historic farmyards in a hamlet and gets to experience choreography, live music and visual art close to nature, the place and the people who have lived there. Strong professional dancers and singers such as Rebekka Reienes Andresen, Sanyu Christine Nsubuga and Victor Amel Olivares Pedersen let us experience the different poetic tableaux at three of the farmyards in the hamlet.

Dovre is surrounded by fantastic nature and mountains that both Henrik Ibsen and Edvard Grieg were inspired by in their drama and music. Dovre, which is rich in its myths, stories and mountain landscapes, will be highlighted by choreographer Gunhild Bjørnsgaard, who will highlight some of the cultural heritage in a hamlet called Bergsgrende, through a poetic artistic expression consisting of dance and ‘live’ music.

With inspiration from nature, the architecture of the farmyard and the shapes of the landscape with rocks, stones, water and trees – past and present are intertwined in an experience that touches both the senses and reflection. Even carpentry, forging and wood carving are set to sound and performed by craftsmen from Hjerleid Handverksskole for bygdekultur. Children from Lesja Dovre cultural school participate in the choreography. The performance is also based on old lullabies from Dovre and traces of the musical work that has characterized farm and farm life through generations. The result is a close and evocative work about belonging and memories, nature and cultural heritage.

The walk takes the audience through various artistic spaces, where place, movement and tones open up new perspectives on life through these farmyards in Bergsgrende in Nord-Gudbrandsdalen. This is a unique experience through a hamlet with traces from over 1000 years ago, here where several paths went up to Dovrefjell and to Nidaros Cathedral. The audience encounters both history and contemporary art in a rare and inspiring interaction.

Conversation with the artists and serving
After the walk, the audience is invited to a conversation with the artists and serving local food in the atmospheric Søndre Bjørnsgaard. Here you can buy drinks and enjoy soup made with vegetables from the neighboring farm of Rannei and Hans Hovde.

You never know the weather conditions, so bring wool and rainwear, and good shoes.

Unfortunately, the hiking trail is not suitable for wheelchair users.
