Marcelino Martin Valiente (b. 1964) studied at the International Drama School ‘Jacques Lecoq’ and the drama school ‘Charles Dullin, both in Paris. He has also studied psychology and theatre at the Universities in Reims and Paris, as well as taken part in various theatre- and dance- workshops in London, Paris and Oslo.

In 1997 he started the contemporary dance company ‘Kompani B. Valiente’ with Gunhild Bjørnsgaard. They have performed in numerous State Theatres, as well as art galleries, prisons, military camps and churches in Norway, and at festivals in France, Poland, Italy, Pakistan and Estonia.

He has worked as a choreographer, film- and theatre- director and has been teaching various forms of art (i.e. drama, dance and performance). He has also directed numerous plays, both for State theatres and fringe groups. Marcelino M. Valiente is a member of The Norwegian Stage directors union. He made his debut as a feature film director with the drama The Accident in 2009.
